Introduction to Global Warming

One of the serious problems which many country are been blinded and not taking care of it is the global warming changes around the world it’s an important that’s people should look into this matter and try to solve it before its to late the Arctic are melting so fast because of the unexpected change of climate around the world.

The main cause of those climate changes are the emissions which is come out from factories all the heat are gathered above the Arctic which is case of increase in Temperate and melting the ice.

In these last 10 years a huge changing accrued the planet and natural disasters are accruing one after the other such as Tsunami , Katrina and Gono in UAE.

Since the biggest industrial countries are ignoring this serious problem and only think about themselves it well be a great disaster after sometime and they well regret it if they didn’t take a quick measurement in the next 10-20 years.

Otherwise most of the planet well be covered by sea water and well kill many life’s such as Animals , plants even Human beings’. I hope we could survive this Dilemma.

First Day This Semester

Today is my first day teaching again this semester. I have in total six class in a week, but the distribution is not so good.

I have to teach three class in one day (Monday), followed with one in Tuesday and two in Wednesday, leaving me empty on Thursday and Friday (well, i wanted to have Friday to be free).Teaching three class a day is a new experience for me.

I never teach this much on one day. Usually i only teach two class at maximum, but now, it's three consecutive class, so i had no time to rest (Even i had to have lunch at 16.30). I started at 7.30, next is 10.30, and the last one is 13.30.

Today is only the first class, but i already spend two and half hours for each class (except for the last class which was only for two hours) because i already give some introduction to the material (besides giving them the syllabus, point criteria, assignments, reference books, etc).

Well, it was a good start and i'm going to rest now while reading the new magazines (Computer and Communications) from IEEE that has just arrived at my home today

Speedy Problem

For the last few days, i have become a bandwidthless with Speedy. It's speed were dropped very bad and it's not only happening on my computer, but also in other location as well. I have asked my friend who's in Jakarta and other cities in Indonesia and they feel the same problems: Speedy is no longer

Speedy.

Few days ago, i complaint to the 147 and they gave me an answer which didn't satisfy me, so today i called them again, and this time, they were willing to report this problem to the network division, which is better than yesterday's staff which gave instructions to restart the modem and computer and if the problem persists, please contact them again.At around 5.30 PM, i got a call from Speedy asking for the current condition.

I replied that the problem still persists and i explain about my speed in the past when the connection was fine. He acknowledged that there was a problem with their connection, but it was already fixed. He will recheck the network again and check whether the problem is on the network or on the server.Anybody wants to share their thoughts here? Are you having the same problem like i do?

After i post about my complaints on this blog, i went to bed and when i woke up this morning, the speed i gained this morning is the normal speed i usually get.

It seems that they have located the problem and get it fixed. But, it's weekend and not many people go to office, so probably it was one of the reason it is faster.

Also this is early in the morning, so the current speed can't be used for determining whether they have fixed the problem or not.

We should see for another few days, mostly on Monday where all people are starting to get into the office again and start consuming bandwidth Another good news is that W3C's Annotea Server is now back online after Ralph rebooted the machine. Thanks to Marja, Eric, and Ralph for their support for my thesis.

Back Online

This morning, my speedy connection was down and the DSL light was off and it won't turned on again, even after i restarted the modem several time.

I asked 147 and they asked me to look on the DSL splitter. Since i have three classes today, i don't have time to look on it in the morning.When i was on my way back home, i bought the splitter and i changed the one in my house.

No luck. My phone was dead as well, so i finally decided to leave it just for now. What do you know? When i tried to trick the modem so i could get some IP from the modem, the DSL works and now i'm back online again. I don't know what's the problem, but the good thing is that now i can go online again.

My New Semester

This week we have completed the infrastructure upgrade with the result, that premium users can now enjoy full speed again.

Also, we are able to allocate bandwith to free users dynamically: Depending on the overall traffic you can up- and download with up to 2,0 megabit per second. If it is crowded though, you might experience only 0,2 megabit per second, since we always put our premium users first.Thus, we have raised the daily premium download traffic from 5 gigabyte to 10 gigabyte.

Please keep in mind that it is still necessary to limit the maximum download speed for free users to protect RapidShare from congestion caused by automated downloading.

To compensate for that, we already eliminated the waiting period before starting a succeeding download.We wish you a pleasant time using rapidshare.com and apologize for any inconvenience you might have experienced during the transition period.

For this information i have benn gathring all the information togther. Recently I have added some interesting features which led me to some reflexions that I want to share in this post. Up until now, all of my posts have been purely technical, so for a change this will be a more speculative post although it will have some technical elements.
